new skirt 4 Jodz...

What do you think? This cute little skirt was made from a neat old retro tablecloth and some fabric given to me by my good friend Lianne! Lianne was going through her stash and doing the big chuck and I held my arms open and said "give me, give me"... :) Hehehehe! Like I really need more fabric!?!

After the day Jodz had last week, I knew she needed a little cheering up and a cute skirt never goes amiss! :D It fits her perfectly and looks smashing!!

Talking about having way too much fabric, I've been inspired by Lianne to go through all mine whilst the kids are away. Every day this week I will be washing a huge drawer full and sorting it into will-use, won't-use-yet, and will-never-ever-in-a-million-years-use piles. It's something that HAS to be done because my craft room is looking like a fabric bomb exploded in there and it's near impossible to sew in. You know you have to do something when that happens!

I notice you havn't mentioned getting rod of any of the 'don't need' stuff....

Hehehe! That's because getting "rod" of anything is not one of my many talents!! ;)

haha - love the skirt... you are very clever! Will have to try to make one sometime... must be hard to get 'rod' of your fabric.

What a cool skirt! I have loads of tablecloths that I don't have the heart to get rod of and a couple would be perfect skirts. Never quite been able to get my head around the borders... must give it another go.

We have something here in the states called Freecycle so if you have to get "Rod" of something you know it goes to another sewer wanted or needing it. I have gotten a smooth top stove, swing set, fabric, and some of the other things you have seen on my blog!!! I love the skirt and Jodz is a lucky glad to have you!!! Huggs Marion

Little Miss Flossy...

I lined up the flowers on the bottom of the tablecloth so that the skirt "matched up". :) Turned out better than I expected! Thank you so much for gifting the book to me - as you can see, it's getting put to good use. I'm just too scared to do anything too adventurous, so jealous of the beautiful skirts that you've made lately!!!

Marion...

We have freecycle here too! I've not been all that successful at getting bargains on it, but what a great idea to gift my excess fabric to someone on there... Might just do that!!! Thanks.

I adore that skirt! It's a wrap skirt? This might be the perfect project to motivate me to sew apparel for myself. I will have to find that 49 Sensational Skirts book!
