made | tea wallet

I've been wanting to make one of these ever since they began arriving on the blogging scene last year. And so here are my first two tea wallet proto-type's...

You may remember seeing the fabric for the cat tea wallet on my retreat montage, and yes it was made to match... :) I now have a neat little trio to have in my handbag...

Did you guess that I like cat's, and the colours, orange and green? ;)

I do really LOVE my diary cover... Now I can keep up with everything in my life (and my kid's lives too!)

The green stripy fabric was one of the many fat quarters I received in the sewmamasew fat quarter swap. Thanks Jacqui! All the other fabric was out of my growing stash... I swear my stash is like a living thing!

POSTSCRIPT for Kristy and anyone else who has been wondering;
Tea wallets are to hold teabags in your handbag. You know, if you’ve got a favourite cuppa and want to be able to take it with you to a friends house. Maybe they don’t drink tea or don’t drink the tea you like (eg. Earl Grey). You can buy specialty tea bags (like the kind you get at motels and restaurants) and put them in the pockets. Makes a great gift too!

Why I've been a little absent this week...

Number 1. My craft room is in need of a sort out; so I've been in the little dungeon cleaning out and throwing away and ogling my stash...

Major reason for doing this is that my lovely other half put his foot down about me buying more stuff when I have nowhere to put it - so000, here I am tidying so I can buy more ;). Just kidding, although I am sure that spotlight and the local op shops must have something cool to buy, I'm just not tempting myself at the moment. I can't wait till the 21st when I go to spend time (and money) with my baby sister Becs in Christchurch!

Number 2. Briahna is sick again - this is like the 15th time this year! It's driving me crazy, I love her to bits but want to get back to normality!

Number 3. My washing machine is on the blink. :( At least it's still within warranty, but we have been given the runaround just trying to find out who is supposed to be fixing it! And I have about 7 loads to do, that are now on my kitchen floor.

One major cool thing about today though... I am going for a girlie night out with my majorly pregnant friend Becca tonight. It will probably be the last time before baby comes, so we are gonna make the most of it!!

We did enjoy a lightbulb free hour on Sunday night for Earth Day! I just love the way the candles look, might have to do it again soon!!

Reasons why I like Spotlight...

I popped over to my local Spotlight yesterday, and got some really GREAT bargains. Yarn was $1 a ball and I got a bag of fantastic fabric remnants ($10) and a bag of trims ($5). Woohoo!

Forgive the quality of the pictures - in my excitement to get them up on the blog, some are a little blurry!
8 balls of cotton yarn ($1 a ball)
Trim (look at the DORA stuff!) $5

All the rest of the pic's are of the fabric I got in the remnant bag ($10).

I can't wait to use it - thinking bibs, dolls, softies...

stash finds...

Isn't it great when you re-discover things you had in your stash all along....

All this in one old bag I found in my fabric drawers. There is more in there, lot's of vintage buttons and some bias-binding and ribbon!

Things that make you go, "hmmmmmm"!
