Birthday Season!

Yep, it's that time of year at our house.  Lot's of birthday going's on's!  A couple of weeks ago it was Hope's and now it's Aimee's turn.  Luckily for Aimee, I think I have my craft mojo back, at least in a small way.

Lookie, what I'm making her for her 11th Birthday tomorrow!

Well, a sneak peak anyway...  still unfinished, but thank God for husbandless evenings, because tonight I'll finish it!

In case you're wondering what it could possibly be...  It's a little case (fur-lined & waterproof resistant) for her Nintendo DS.

Yesterday at craft group my interest in applique was rekindled and I've been at it like crazy since then.  Cupcakes, birds, flowers all excitedly stitched.  So, lets hope the craft creativity drought is finally over because I am getting sick of reading novels hastily chosen from the local library!  There's a season for everything, but I was going a little crazy there!

Hope life's treating you well,

D.

smells like teen spirit...

My daughter, Hope, turns 13 tomorrow, which officially makes me a mum of a teenager!  EEEEK!

I've made her a quilt, and she's getting the last two books in the twilight saga - plus a couple of other treats which should keep her happy!  We live in hope, anyway.

I'd had great plans to do all sorts of things for her thirteenth, which is a super special age to be, but as with a lot of things this year...  well, they've gone by the by.  So, it's about keeping things simple, but good!

She's having a couple of friends over on Saturday for a Pizza, Sundae, Movie night.  Should be good, just have to pick a movie that's good for 12 and 13 year olds!  Kind of a difficult age, really.

Anyway, wish me luck for the next couple of years...

the three musketeers...

Here are the three games organisers for Briahna's Party!
Rachael, Hope & Hannah

That pink glow is not a halo, but they sprayed pink gunk into their hair - it's all for "the look" I am told! Thanks to these girls the party was a huge success. Just today, one of the children's mum's was telling me about how their son raved about the day. We had a great mix of girl's and boy's and the musketeers catered for that really awesomely!

THANKS GIRLS, I hope you liked the gift we gave to say thanks!

Appliqued Ellie Elephant Tote Bag

This idea was brewing in my head ever since I made the softie the other day! I think it turned out AWESOMELY! :) I had a couple of problems with the lining, but a little ric rac on the outside and that was sorted out.

The appliqué turned out great -
I am so pleased with it!

Look at the cute matching lining!
I also made 2 other bags, but I'll have to show them off later as I have a couple more things to do before I'm off on the school run!
