refashion | bag from dress...
Not sure how it'll work due to the small neck/handles, but I loved this little woollen dress and the embellishments that were on it, so I thought I'd give it a try!

pillowcase bags...
After reading CurlyPop's recent post, I have been inspired to try out making my own bag out of a pillowcase. I have a ton of old pillowcases, because for some weird reason I must've known I would need them "one day". I gave most of the sheets and duvet covers to the Sallies, but kept the cases (strange I know!).
Anyhow, this is my first one. I didn't use a pattern just cut straight into the pillowcase. I didn't even edge it properly, just good old zig-zag stitch.

It will be great just for having in my handbag in case I need a quick something from the supermarket.

cream bags with hanging pockets
Here are some photos of the bags I posted about yesterday. The are going to be knitting project bags (but I think they almost look too pretty for that!)

I made little pockets that hang from ribbon and can carry credit cards, money, notions and your cellphone too!
I also made a little drawstring bag to hold some swap items I am sending someone! :)
The bags are made out of some cream upholstery fabric and lined in calico.
On another note - I have some great news about selling some of my little zombie friends, but I'll let you all know when I've finished the commissioned job! How exciting!!! :D

thing a day; six
I am very pleased with how these little tote bags turned out. The tutorial was very easy to follow! I made 5 bags at once. I often find it easier to do more than one thing at a time, and it doesn't take much more time to do that.
It was my first time making a lined bag, and I am sure it won't be the last now I know how! I imagine a little appliqué would make the bag more interesting, although they look cool as they are, with a little surprise of colour in the lining. I used some old chambray fabric and cotton print fabric out of my stash, as it doesn't use a whole lot of fabric it's a great to use the old bits and pieces up. :)
One will go to Jaime-Lee (Bree's friend) and one to Ailish (Hope's friend) who are having birthday's this Saturday! The other three are going to be part of the girls Valentines Day presents. I must say , I am so stoked with how they turned out! My sewing skills have improved ten-fold since I started this blog just over a month ago!!!

Little Denim Tote's
January seems to be the month for birthdays! Today, I made some tote bags out of jean legs. I love the fact that when you use used clothing you're not only saving the planet, you're saving your wallet! Anyhow, They were made from the exact same jean's that I made our Santa stockings from. They're unlined because I had limited time and my head is finding it hard to get around the lining aspect.
This bag is to go with the little Ruby doll I made on Tuesday and will be given to a little girl turning 5! The fabric is the same stuff I used for her Chrissy pressie and so I am sure she will LOVE it!
This bag was made with Hope's good friend in mind. She's turning 12, scary thought!!!
Hope has also made her a Monsta! I am proud of what she's accomplished!
