real good

I am beginning to get excited about the shift, more and more so as I pack up the house! :)


Yesterday, I discovered this bag full of buttons.  Now, I thought I'd discovered all the buttons I'd had around the house and organised them into jars.  I was mistaken.

Today, I rang the schools to organise enrolment (and leaving) of the eldest and youngest (the middle daughter get's to stay at her current school!).  It's such a good feeling to know they'll be going to good schools within walking distance of the new house!  Really good! :D

So it's all coming together, just a few more (say 20 or so) boxes to pack and come Saturday we'll be on our way!  YAY!

BUTTON LOVE


This is what $1 brang me from Spotlight yesterday - loads of really nice buttons that I can't wait to use! :)

I had a really productive decluttering day in the girls room yesterday - we threw away 4 bags of rubbish and gave 1 bag of toys away to the local Sally Army shop!  It feels good to have their room a little more sorted, although Aimee found it difficult to sleep in such a tidy environment...

one of these things is not like the others...

one of these things is not quite the same...



Hehehe, do you remember that from Sesame Street?? It was one of my favourite sections, that and the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 one...




Anyway, a bit of a trek down memory lane and you get 4 neat little spring magnets, made from singleton buttons, one not quite the same! ;)




Make's me feel all springy inside! (even if it is autumn here!!!)

I am going to be making some of these for my etsy store, so if you're interested in some neat magnets for your fridge keep an eye out! :)

the singleton brooch...

my first singleton...


Using macro photography, you can see it's not perfect, but since when did handmade get perfect?!?  :D

These are super awesome and easy to make, and I'm sure I've just found something new to be addicted to!

I am going to use them on my gorgeous little fabric brooches, and I'm off to make one right now!

The retreat weekend sure rejuvenated all the crafty juices!

singleton buttons

I'm so excited about the button extravaganza happening over on craft stylish!


I love buttons, and lately I've been loving fabric covered buttons. They're so super easy to make and look FANTASTIC! And so, when I spied the article on making singleton buttons over on Craft Stylish this morning I almost exploded out of sheer excitement - oh boy, I can hardly type for the crafty tension!!! :)

I have made dorset buttons out of rings and cotton yarn before and it seems this is a similar procedure - but oh boy, the possibilities with the singleton buttons - I can hardly contain myself! :D

So, today I may just find myself making some of them - may, may, may, WILL!

something I can do with a broken wrist....

It's like a little bit of heaven and therapy wrapped into one!

If you saw what Mr Sew-Funky posted up for me yesterday, you'll know I've done more than just sort buttons. After making the little buttonlets I realised I had kinda overdone it, and had to let him post for me. I am so over having a broken wrist, let me tell you!!!


This morning I let the chickens have a little time out of the enclosure, what fun they had...


all under the watchful gaze of Clementine, the kitten, who after sniffing one of the chickens just a little too closely, got the fright of her life when it pecked her on the nose!

I was able to do a "little" craft tonight!  Hurrah!  I tell you, it's so limiting not being able to use my wrist!  I was also able to sort through just some of the buttons I got in a trade me auction last week - fun, fun, fun!
