It's like a little bit of heaven and therapy wrapped into one!

If you saw what Mr Sew-Funky posted up for me yesterday, you'll know I've done more than just sort buttons. After making the little buttonlets I realised I had kinda overdone it, and had to let him post for me. I am so over having a broken wrist, let me tell you!!!


This morning I let the chickens have a little time out of the enclosure, what fun they had...


all under the watchful gaze of Clementine, the kitten, who after sniffing one of the chickens just a little too closely, got the fright of her life when it pecked her on the nose!

Buttonlets

Mrs Sew Funky has discovered a craft that she can do with a broken wrist, and I've coined the term 'Buttenlets' (Button Bracelets) to describe them. Knowing Mrs Sew Funky's passion for creating you can expect a plethora of these to appear over the next few weeks ;o)

I was able to do a "little" craft tonight!  Hurrah!  I tell you, it's so limiting not being able to use my wrist!  I was also able to sort through just some of the buttons I got in a trade me auction last week - fun, fun, fun!

Yesterday, I headed on down to Hamilton to check out the Craft & Quilt Fair. It was a lot of fun and I managed to keep to budget ($100) and get some great fabric bargains in the process! Wish I had more to spend, but I guess I can't do much crafting at the moment anyway, so that's okay. It was hard looking at all the beautiful quilts, knowing that I couldn't even begin making one for at least 4-5 weeks. :( I'm so over the broken wrist!!!

I will post some of my fabric finds later on this week! I found some super awesome teapot/cup fabric to use for applique - yay! Unfortunately, there wasn't many cupcake quarters to be seen :(.

My wonderful 10 year old woke me this morning saying, "Happy Anniversary!". I had to think for a moment about what anniversary she could possibly be talking about... when, of course, it's the second week anniversary today of breaking my wrist! Not something, I really want to celebrate... At least, not until the cast comes off - Then I'll be inviting all my friend's over for a great big "CAST-OFF PARTY!".

I'm in a "purple haze"

Today's post is brought to you by the colour purple... ;)

I was interested in finding out about the song, purple haze and I discovered this on wikipedia:
"Hendrix said he was inspired by a dream where he was walking under the sea. In the dream, he said a purple haze surrounded him, engulfed him and got him lost. It was a traumatic experience, but in his dream his faith in Jesus saved him. An early song manuscript has the title "Purple Haze, Jesus Saves". He also mentioned that the song's colorful imagery came to him in the dream. "I dream a lot and I put a lot of my dreams down as songs" in a 1969 interview."

I also discovered that purple haze is another name for drugs (LSD & Cannabis), beer, a wrestler and a tv episode on Eureka!

You'll know why I'm in a purple haze when you spy the next picture. I chose the colour purple for my fibre-glass cast for Aimee (my very own purple lover!). Also, it goes very nicely with this blog layout - hehehe! This is for you babe...

There were about 30 different colours to choose from including a very fluorescent pink and black! Only 5 weeks to go, the countdown begins!!! LOL!
